Who Is This Treatment For?

Filler dissolving is suitable for adults who:
 • Have hyaluronic acid-based filler (lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, etc.) they wish to reverse
 • Want to correct lumps, bumps, migration or overfilled areas
 • Are planning to “start fresh” before new filler treatments

It may not be suitable for:
 • People allergic to hyaluronidase (patch testing is always performed)
 • Non-HA fillers (such as Sculptra or Radiesse – these cannot be dissolved)
 • Those pregnant or breastfeeding

What To Expect During An Appointment?

1. Consultation & Patch Test:
You’ll have a thorough consultation to assess the area, discuss your concerns, and determine if dissolving is the best option. A small patch test (intradermal test) is then performed to check for allergic reactions to hyaluronidase. This must be done at least 24 hours before the dissolving procedure.

2. The Treatment:
If no allergy is detected, Nicky will inject hyaluronidase directly into the area where the filler needs to be broken down. The treatment is quick (around 15–30 minutes) and may sting briefly.

3. After the Procedure:
Expect some swelling, redness or bruising for a few days post-treatment. This is completely normal. Most filler dissolves within 48 hours, but final results may take up to two weeks as swelling subsides.

As with any injectable treatment, side effects may include:

• Temporary redness, swelling or bruising
 • Mild stinging or discomfort during treatment
 • Unevenness – in some cases, multiple sessions are needed to fully dissolve all filler

Allergic reactions to hyaluronidase are rare but possible. That’s why a patch test is mandatory before treatment.

What Happens After Dissolving?

Once swelling has gone down, your natural features will reappear. Occasionally, lips or facial areas can seem smaller than expected — this is because hyaluronidase may break down a small amount of your natural hyaluronic acid as well as the filler, plus you’ve become used to seeing the treated area with extra volume. Your body will naturally replenish this over time.

If you’d like to have filler again, Nicky recommends waiting at least 4 weeks (or up to 6 weeks if the area experienced significant swelling or trauma) to allow tissues to recover fully. This helps prevent overcorrection and ensures the best long-term result.

Aftercare Instructions

To support healing and reduce risks:

• Avoid touching or massaging the area for 24 hours
 • Refrain from strenuous exercise and excessive heat (saunas, hot tubs) for 48 hours
 • Sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated the first night
 • Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol or blood-thinning medications (like paracetamol or aspirin) for 24 hours to minimise bruising
 • Use a cool compress if needed for swelling

Contact Nicky immediately if you experience unusual symptoms such as severe pain, blanching of the skin, or signs of an allergic reaction.
